Science Communication
In my professional experience as a scientist and a science communicator I have come to understand that science is inherently exciting, and is a direct extension of the human capacity of wonder. I also recognize that it requires great skill and attention to make that excitement evident to the general public. I have a diverse science communication experience through podcast production, outreach demos, and workshops. But I genuinely believe my best science communication happens back home, when I am speaking to my family, explaining what am I even doing on the other side of the globe :/

Outreach Events and Demos
Since Fall 2023 I have worked with PhD Student Cesar Castro Rubio on developing a demonstration for phononic bandgaps. . I have also participated in outreach events throughout my graduate school and postdoc. My favorite has been the South Side Science Festival where I have enjoyed explaining cutting edge science to people of all ages!
